Biographical Info I grew up in the south and attended college there. I received a degree in Theatre Arts and I minored in Education. After graduation, I taught theatre in four of the five boroughs in New York City and did some acting along the way. I also taught preschool and pursued a Master's in Early Childhood Education. After years of parent meetings that seemed a lot like therapy, I realized psychology was the career I had been seeking all those years. I love the work I get to be a part of as a therapist. When you work with me you get the benefit of my diverse professional experience which began over twenty years ago.

Short DescriptionI have been a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists since 2011. I was an adjunct faculty member at Santa Clara University leading graduate students through a group therapy experience. Groups are a passion of mine. Groups help us heal in interpersonal relationships. To increase my training in this area I joined NCGPS (Northern California Group Psychotherapy Society) in 2015. And since 2017 I have been an AGPA (American Group Psychotherapy Association) member and attended the national conference two years in a row though I am on a break from this group just for now. My focus has turned to the expressive arts. I completed a two-year training program called "Person-Centered Expressive Arts". Combining movement, sound, and art into my practice has been a long-term dream. Lastly, I am working toward two 75 hour-long certificates one in mindfulness and one in embodied social justice. Offering culturally humble, embodied therapy is of paramount importance to me.

Group Description So, so many of my clients are struggling with their relationship to food, intimacy issues, and a lack of creativity. I am beginning to form a 10-week long group where we will explore, creativity, eating, and intimacy. This group would be aimed toward folks 20 and older. You identify as a woman, and you have a mindset or a willingness to examine and question the diet culture in which most of us have been raised. Additionally, as humans in modern culture (especially most places in the United States (aka Turtle Island) we are rejecting of self-pleasure and downtime. The patriarchal, capitalistic, racist, inhumane treatment of the human soul for many centuries in some places leaves us hungry, tired, and in desperate need of paint, creativity, song, and beauty. Join me, let’s co-create something amazing!
