Join us for an update on Events, Legislation, Professional Will writing, and internal association processes that are currently impacting CAMFT members.

Virtual Zoom Training Presented by CAMFT Executive Director, Joy Alafia, CAE, and Co-Hosted by SFCAMFT

Educational Goals: Designed for Mental Health Professionals, this 90-min presentation will discuss general CAMFT issues and the importance of a Professional Will. There will also be updates from BBS, as well as California and Federal legislative updates. Finally, discussion on why it is important to avail yourself of the Legal Consultation service CAMFT provides. There will be ample time for Q&A.

Learning Objectives: At the end of the presentation, participants will be able to Participants will be able to: 1) Recall at least 3 recent/pending legislations and how marriage and family therapists may be impacted by the bills, 2) Identify 1 resource for legal consultation for therapists, and 3) Identify important components of a Professional Will

The workshop is designed for mental health professionals and provides 1.5 CEs for LMFTs, LCSWs, LPCCs and LEPs.

Training Zoom Link & Zoom Pre-Registration:  Quickly after registering for the event on Eventbrite, you should receive an email from Eventbrite that confirms your registration. The Zoom link or recording will be shared with you closer to the event.

Recording Option Available: A recording of the training will be available for 21 days and will be sent within a few days following the live event to those who registered for the recording option. You may watch the recording and still be eligible to earn CEs as long as you purchased the “viewing recording” ticket option that includes 1.5 CEs, watch the training, and complete the online evaluation and short quiz within 30 days of the recording becoming available.

How do I get CEs for this event?

1. Live Attendance:  If you attend live, you must purchase the “attending live” ticket option that includes 1.5 CEs. Course completion certificates will be awarded after the course in exchange for a completed evaluation form to be done online. To qualify for CE credit, you must arrive on time, stay until the end of the program, and fill out the online evaluation. Your CE certificate will be emailed within 30 business days after the event.
2. Watch the Recording:  If you are not able to attend the training live, you may watch the recording and still be eligible to earn CEs as long as you purchase the “viewing recording” ticket option that includes 1.5 CEs, watch the training, and complete the online evaluation and short quiz within 30 days of the recording becoming available.

Presenter Bio:

CAMFT Executive Director Joy Alafia, CAE brings more than 17 years of association leadership experience to her new position. She begins her new role at CAMFT after her tenure as the President and CEO of the Western Propane Gas Association (WPGA), where she has advocated for renewable propane and equitable access for alternative sources of clean energy. Joy has spoken around the world about the importance of sustainable energy and is credited with transforming the propane industry’s focus and shifting its priorities to the commercialization of net zero-carbon energy solutions.

Prior to her work at WPGA, she served as the Director of Business Products for the California Association of Realtors®, where she created innovative partnerships and business solutions for industry practitioners.
