About Us

San Francisco CAMFT is the local chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, serving the city of San Francisco and the peninsula. We are approximately five hundred members strong and growing. The Chapter is currently incorporated as a non-profit organization. Members are focused on both their own development as clinicians and on promoting Marriage and Family Therapy as a profession. Combining leadership, vision, dedication, and devotion to our members and the MFT field as a whole, the Board, Committee Chairs, and members are actively working to further develop our chapter, which helps create a sense of community for conscientious, compassionate, thoughtful, and successful therapists and pre-licensed clinicians. Welcome!

Our Mission

It is the mission of the San Francisco Chapter of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists to:

  • Provide a local professional community for Marriage and Family Therapists that supports its members by providing opportunities for training and development, practice building, community education, and networking.
  • Communicate with state and local membership, and educate the community at large about the profession of Marriage and Family Therapy and issues relevant to our profession.
  • Promote and protect the Marriage and Family Therapy profession, including working with state CAMFT to advocate for legislation which will strengthen and advance the practice of Marriage and family Therapy.
  • Be available to the local community as need arises in order to ensure Marriage and Family Therapy as a viable and necessary component of mental health services for the San Francisco community as well as for the state of California.
